ESS Symposiums — Post-Congress 2025

Level Up Your Surgical Skills: Two intensive tracks: Advanced Ultrasound and Robotic Surgery

On the occasion of the 127th National Congress of the Italian Society of Surgery (SIC)the European Society of Surgery presents two specialized symposiums designed to enhance surgical expertise and foster direct exchange with international experts.

📍 Hotel Nicolaus, BariWednesday, October 8th, 2025

The symposiums will take place in dedicated venues inside the congress center, featuring hands-on sessions, case-based discussions, and interactive Q&A.

1. Advanced Ultrasound for Surgeons

From complex pre-operative assessments to intra-operative guidance, including biopsies and ultrasound-guided drainage. Applications in emergencythyroid, breast, and hepatobiliary surgery.
Special focus on emerging technologies: portable devices, 3D imaging, elastography.

2. Robotic Surgery: Update and Perspectives

A comprehensive overview of the latest robotic platforms, clinical applications (colorectal, HPB, hernia), and comparative data against traditional procedures.  Innovative training pathways (simulation, VR) and future perspectives including AI, telesurgery, and miniaturization. A critical outlook on costs, accessibility, and ethics.

🎯 Common Goal: to provide immediately applicable skills in the operating room and a clear vision of the future trajectories of surgical innovation.
